Since early 2020, many organizations have been coping with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the most significant ripple effects from the pandemic is the challenge to organizations’ people and processes—from the wave of layoffs resulting from lockdowns and economic uncertainty to the surge of high turnover as more employees voluntarily leave their jobs. This economic trend, which began in late 2020, is often referred to as the “Great Resignation.”

This article, part of an emerging technology series from the Anti-Fraud Collaboration, examines the implications of the Great Resignation and the role that technology has in mitigating fraud risks in light of this phenomenon.
